In this article through the use of thermoluminescent dosimetry method the equivalent doses in the lens of the eye are specified, as well as the total radiation dose of the doctor performing X-ray and endovascular interventions. To study the parameters of the refractive index of the physician’s organ of vision by X-ray and endovascular diagnosis and treatment clinically, the methods of collecting anamnesis, objective examination, biomicroscopy of the eye (conjunctiva of the eyeball, vitreous body), B-scan of the eye were applied. The results of the determination of equivalent dose in the lenses of medical staff performing the surgery under the control of X-rays, and the results of clinical research of the state of the physician’s visual organ with the use of roentgen-endovascular diagnostics and treatment confirm the validity of tightening normalized annual limit of equivalent dose in the lens at a level of 20 mSv, determined by the IAEA.

Measures focusing on the prevention of changes in visual organs with early stage are proposed.

Key words: ionizing radiation, lens, radiation cataract, medical exposure, dosimetry, preventive measures.
