The paper discusses the characteristics of inventive activity, and its differences from other forms of creativity. The main aspects of inventive activity in such a specific field as medicine are presented. The activity of the Patent and Inventive Work Department of the Republic Clinical Hospital of Tatarstan Ministry of Healthcare is analyzed.
