This article presents the characteristic of the new directions of development of social psychiatry in Republican Clinical Psychiatric Hospital named after academician V.M. Bekhterev of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan, that emerged during this period of socio-economic reforms in Russia: sociological research in the form of a cross-questioning of participants receiving mental health care; social psychopharmacotherapy that corrects labor activities of patients; self-healing activity of mental patients; self-defense of mental health from destructive informational and psychological effects; ideological, pedagogical, educational directions; mental disorders in borrowers; systemic biopsychosocial aids prophylaxis of addictions, radicalization, extremism and terrorism.
