A correlation analysis was made between the immunomorphological features of 17 removed idiopathic epiretinal membranes and the morphofunctional parameters of the retina in the pre- and postoperative period. It was found that at the initial changes of retina changes, the expression of glial fibrillar acid protein is predominantly determined in distant idiopathic epiretinal membranes, while as the neurodegenerative process progresses, the content of fibronectin and laminin increases.
Key words: idiopathic epiretinal membrane, fibronectin, laminin, glial fibrillar acidic protein.
