A survey of 130 families, having infants and preschool children (from 1 to 5 years old), has been conducted to identify the factors of social environment influencing speech development of a child. In research group, 80 children did not have any speech dysfunctions, while 50 children showed signs of general speech underdevelopment together with autistic-like dysfunctions. Family risk factors of communicative behavior violation have been identified. Unreasonably early exposure to electronic gadgets (smart phones, pads) and continuous uncontrolled interactions with them was observed in both groups of children.
Key words: speech, verbal communication, autistic disorders, gadgets.
