 The article describes and substantiates the need to observe the “golden hour” principle for the speedy provision of emergency specialized trauma care to patients with polytrauma under conditions of specialized trauma centers of level I in the Republic of Tatarstan. Endless sources of polytrauma are traffic accidents. In order to improve provision of specialized trauma care to the population in accordance with the main directions of development of health care in the Republic of Tatarstan and the city of Kazan, large multi-profile trauma hospitals were reorganized into daily round-the-clock emergency hospitals with a clearly defined area of service. This helped to solve the problem, significantly reducing the transportation time of victims with severe multiple injuries. The main results of territorial zoning were compliance with the “golden hour” principle, reducing the daily load on the duty staff of clinics and, as a result, improving the quality of specialized care through the early provision of specialized trauma care and reduced mortality.
