Active lending to individuals has contributed to the emergence of millions of borrowers who do not have the financial resources to repay debt. The status of a hopeless debtor is morally traumatic, negatively affects the mental health of borrowers; for this reason they need psychotherapeutic support. To determine the tasks of psychotherapy of borrowers-debtors, the results of foreign studies dedicated to the impact of credit debts on mental state are analyzed.

Key words: credit, problems of return, mental disorders.
