Histological features of the ligamentous apparatus in women with genital prolapse in menopause and postmenopause

The results of studying the histological features of uterine ligaments in women with prolapse of genitalia and without prolapse are presented. The material of the biopsy samples of the sacro-uterine and round ligament of the uterus was analyzed in 30 women (age from 50 to 72 years) taken during a vaginal hysterectomy. Morphological study revealed that with genital prolapse there are signs of fibrotic, inflammatory, destructive changes, development of connective tissue.
