Systemic lupus erythematosus has numerous variants of the onset and course of the disease that determines difficulty in making a diagnosis and timely starting the treatment. The article deals with a clinical case of systemic lupus erythematosus with hematologic changes and hepatosplenomegaly at the onset. Clinical manifestation was characterized by arthralgia and fever which occurred during the parasitic infection. In laboratory tests hypergammaglobulinemia, increased CRP and ESR, circulating immunocomplexes, cryoglobulinemia and dysproteinemia were revealed. CT of the abdomen showed hepatosplenomegaly, portal hypertension, lymphadenopathy and small ascites. Treatment: planned pulse-therapy with prednisone and methylprednisone 36 mg a day per os. The administered treatment resulted in better state, decrease of clinical signs and symptoms intensity, normalizing of the body temperature and laboratory tests.
