This article considers the study results of gender population differences in the prevalence of atrophic gastritis among various ethnic groups. During the study was carried out the non-invasive detection of atrophic gastritis with the use of a test panel for enzyme multiplied immunoassay — «GastroPanel». The criteria for atrophy gravity in the antrum and the gastrus corpus were: gastrin-17 at least 10 pmol / l and / or pepsinogen-1 — less than 25 mg / l, respectively. The study included 2,865 people who were divided along ethnic lines: Karachai, Russian, Cherkessians, Abazins and Nogais as the main nationalities and other nationalities living in Karachaevo-Cherkessia in much smaller numbers (Ossetians, Greeks, Ukrainians, Armenians, Georgians, Chechens, etc.).
The research provided data that the prevalence of atrophic gastritis in the stomach among the main ethnic groups was significantly higher in men than in women, and men with atrophic gastritis of the stomach were mostly Karachay. There were no differences in the prevalence of atrophic gastritis in the stomach among men and women in the ethnic groups of the Nogais and other nationalities.
Key words: prevalence, atrophic gastritis, gender differences.
