The article presents the results of follow-up of four children aged 11 months to 3 years who had supraventricular tachycardia at the start of myocarditis. The follow-up duration was from 12 to 14 years. Our results show that inflammation of the myocardium may not only be of etiological nature, but also a trigger factor for supraventricular rhythm disturbances, which should influence the decision on therapy alongside with the approved treatment protocols for the children with this pathology. The outcome of patient monitoring indicated that, despite severe cases of the disease, complete recovery of hemodynamic disorders and arrhythmias is possible.
Key words: myocarditis, children, supraventricular rhythm disturbance.
