Features of pregnancy and childbirth under COVID-19 infection

The research objective is to analyze literature data on pregnancy features and outcomes in COVID-19 infected women.
General information on the infection epidemiology, characteristics, etiology and pathogenesis of the disease is provided. Information on the current course of pregnancy in COVID-19 infected patients is analyzed. It is noted that the clinical characteristics of pregnant women with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection are similar to those in non-pregnant infected women. There is no evidence of vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in late pregnancy. The available data on the features of COVID-19 infection during pregnancy indicate the absence of an increased risk for the mother and fetus.
It is believed that the management of pregnant patients should be individualized on the basis of obstetric indications and the state of maternal/fetal health. It is important to consider that the current COVID-19 pandemic causes psychological stress and anxiety in pregnant women, which may have an adverse effect during pregnancy.
