Purpose – to reveal the features of emotional sphere of children after prenatal lesions of nervous system (PL NS) and their family up-bringing at the stage of transition to subject-based education.
Materials and methods. A comprehensive study of 152 children aged 9–11 was carried out. Taking into account the previous prenatal lesions of nervous system, anxiety, personal characteristics, social status, self-esteem, and family up-bringing styles were researched.
Results. Children with the consequences of PL NS more often demonstrated increased anxiety, especially under the situations of self-expression and knowledge control; they had lower self-esteem. This was aggravated by personal characteristics, promoting misbehavior at school, low social status in the peer group. These children more often grew under disturbed family up-bringing, their parents had personality problems influencing their pedagogical consistency.
Conclusion. To improve support for children with aftereffects of PL NS when transiting to subject-based education, it is necessary to implement medical-psychological-pedagogical integration in order to identify and correct the lesions in emotional sphere.
Key words: aftereffects of prenatal lesions of nervous system, emotional sphere, medical-social support of children.
