     Objective ― to evaluate the features of remodeling of the common carotid arteries in patients with obstructive sleep apnea in the context of the concept of early vascular aging.

    Material and methods. The cross-sectional study was conducted with 72 men, with an average age of 39.1±5.7 years, of which 41 subjects suffered from respiratory impairment during sleep. All patients underwent ultrasound of the carotid arteries, endothelial function evaluation.

    Results. The facts of remodeling of the common carotid arteries according to the concentric-eccentric type, changes in their elastic-elastic properties, impaired endothelial function were established. The biological age of patients with respiratory disorders in sleep was characterized by an excess of the calendar age by 12.5%.

    Conclusion. Respiratory impairment during sleep is associated with remodeling of the common carotid artery, impaired endothelial function, as well as with a significant increase in vascular age.
