The purpost — to assess the emotional state of pediatricians in Yaroslavl region under the modern socio-economic conditions.

Material and methods. To determine the level of emotional burnout, we conducted an anonymous questionnaire survey among pediatricians in Yaroslavl region in 2023–2024. The survey was conducted using Yandex Forms. We used the questionnaire by C. Maslach and S.E. Jackson (1981) adapted by N. Vodopyanova and E. Starchenkova (2013). Questionnaires of 301 people were evaluated: 92.7% women and 7.3% men, who were distributed by specialties: pediatrician, district pediatrician, pediatrician-specialist, pediatric anesthesiologist-resuscitator.

Results. The high level of emotional burnout (EB) was determined in 72% of respondents. High EB was found among physicians aged 20–30 years (79%) and over 61 years (82,9%). Most often high EB was registered among anesthesiologists — 63% and district pediatricians — 54%. General trends of different pediatric specialties are shown: the length of work experience correlates with an increase in emotional exhaustion and professional depersonalization, as well as an increase in the reduction of professional achievements.

Conclusions. The medical profession remains associated with a high degree of emotional burnout, which requires prevention and rehabilitation measures among physicians.

Key words: emotional burnout, pediatricians, district pediatricians, professional depersonalization, reduction of professional achievements.
