Efficiency of complex treatment of acne in an adolescent with intestinal dysbiosis

The article presents a literature review on the relationship between skin diseases and the microbiological landscape and metabolic activity of the intestinal microbiota. Microbial imbalance and intestinal barrier disorders negatively affect the skin structure and function, which is confirmed by skin manifestations during exacerbation of intestinal diseases. The metabolic function of the intestinal microbiota is reflected by changes in the concentration of short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) in feces. Their synthesis is one of the main factors of colonization resistance, ensuring the intestinal microflora constancy. The authors discuss the correlation between the clinical form of acne and the severity of dysbiotic disorders in the intestine. Stimulating the development and growth of own microflora and restoring its metabolic activity is considered to be a promising method for correcting dysbiotic disorders in the intestine. The clinical observation demonstrates that bacteriological and biochemical studies of feces in patients with severe recurrent acne are needed in order to optimize therapy.
