Objective ― to compare the efficiency and safety of obstetrics-gynecological massage and monotherapy with Tambuil suppositories in treating the chronic pelvic pain syndrome.
Materials and methods. 94 women patients aged 18 to 45 were examined; average age was 31.5 y.o., diagnosis ― chronic pelvic pain syndrome. 47 patients were treated with obstetrics-gynecological massage and 47 patients ― with Tambuil suppositories. All patients were divided into 2 groups according to the applied treatment: the 1st group was treated with Tambuil vaginal suppositories (n=47), the 2nd group ― obstetrics-gynecological massage (by Benediktov) (n=47). The efficiency and safety of therapy were estimated after 3 days and after a month after its termination.
Results. The efficiency of obstetrics-gynecological massage was higher due to laboratory-instrumental effects both during the first and the second visits compared with applying the Tambuil vaginal suppositories.
Conclusion. The most efficient scheme of chronic pelvic pain syndrome treatment was the obstetrics-gynecological massage. The efficiency of treatment with Tambuil vaginal suppositories was 75%, the efficiency of obstetrics-gynecological massage was 98%.
Key words: chronic pelvic pain syndrome, obstetrics-gynecological massage, pyleoid-therapy.
