The article describes a study of 14 patients operated for large macular raptures. During surgery, after the vitrectomy, internal limiting membrane removing and air tampons, the platelet-rich plasma was introduced in the region of the rapture without mechanical edge closing. The observation period was 3 months. Anatomical closure was confirmed in all cases, the visual acuity increased to 0.7. This new technique of macular rapture surgical treatment with platelet-rich plasma is associated with better anatomical and functional results.
Key words: macular rapture, platelet-rich plasma, internal limiting membrane, vitrectomy, vitreo-macular interface.
