Dynamics of cancer incidence in children in the Republic of Mordovia

Over the 14-year period from 2000 till 2013 in the Republic of Mordovia 378 children with cancer were registered. The average incidence of cancer in children increased almost 1.5 times. In the structure of morbidity the first place is occupied by neoplasms of the hematopoietic and lymphatic tissue (7.73 per 100 thousand children). Mortality from cancer in children during the same fourteen-year period also increased. The incidence was significantly higher in age groups of children from 0 to 4 years and 15-17 years compared to other ages.
