The article presents the results of determining the value of integral leukocyte indices for diagnosing acute appendicitis and functional bowel disorders. The study included children of the first 6 years of life with acute appendicitis (n = 25), functional digestive disorders (n = 35), and healthy control children (n = 50). 14 integral indices were calculated based on the data of a general blood test. It was revealed that in children with acute appendicitis, there is a significant change in the erythrocyte loading coefficient, leukocyte intoxication index and body resistance index (р < 0.01). This confirms the expediency of using these indicators to assess the severity of inflammation and endotoxicosis in children. The study did not reveal a diagnostic value of the cell-phagocytic index, the ratio of leukocytes to ESR, and the nuclear intoxication index in the studied groups.
Key words: acute appendicitis, functional bowel disorders, diagnosis, integral indexes, children.
