 The number of operations performed in the treatment of complications of diabetic foot syndrome reflects the absence of effective measures for their prevention. Often the attempts are reduced to recommendations based on personal experience, not always having high evidential and experimental basis. Standardization of the diagnostics and treatment of diabetic foot syndrome, combined with its prevention, will allow to treat it on objective and substantiated basis. To elaborate recommendations for prevention and treatment of the diabetic foot syndrome in the conditions of hospital and outpatient setting, we have analyzed the work of the «Diabetic Foot» Centre in 2012–2015. The emphasis in evaluating the performance of the units was made on creating a unified plan of the patient examination at the outpatient and inpatient stages, including invasive and non-invasive methods. Based on these results, we propose the approach to therapeutic interventions at all stages of treatment. The comprehensive approach to the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot syndrome will reduce the risk for traumatic operations and improve the quality of medical services.
