    Cord entanglement and its influence on the course and outcome of pregnancy are poorly understood. Timely observation of this group of women, prevention and treatment of gestational complications can reduce the risk of hypoxia in fcord entanglement of a fetus. In article the possible cases of pathological conditions of the umbilical cord are described, аnd their clinical significance for the fetus is explained. Questions of the structure, functions and diagnostics of various anomalies of the umbilical cord are explained in detail. Recommendations for the management of pregnancy and childbirth of women with this pathology are named.
