There was evaluated the efficacy of sulodexide in the complex therapy in patients (n=65) with type 2 diabetes with diabetic foot syndrome and diabetic nephropathy. The period of active therapy was 1 year; 3 years later there were estimated the long-term results of therapy. It was found that in the use of sulodexide in a correctly integrated part of antidiabetic, hypolipidemic, antihypertensive therapy it is possible to achieve not only target conventional indicators, but also effective nephroprotection. The article indicates improving renal function, decreasing endothelial dysfunction and ultimately faster healing of ulcers, prevention of amputation of the lower limbs, reduction of cardiovascular events with securing a favorable outcome in the follow-up.
Key words: diabetic foot syndrome, diabetic nephropathy, sulodexide.
