This article presents the discussion of three editions of clinical recommendations of the Russian association on osteoporosis «Osteoporosis. Diagnostics, prevention and treatment», published within the last 10 years, each is reworked and supplements the previous. The attention is focused on recommendations of 2012 which fundamental difference is the summary of provisions which are present in earlier published full version (2009), and also in European clinical recommendations with inclusion of the new data obtained after publication of the specified recommendations. These books became the handbooks for many experts, allowed to draw attention to a problem, to expand the knowledge of physicians of different specialities about osteoporosis, to improve diagnostics, prevention of disease, to define indications for purpose of treatment.
