Constrictive pericarditis (CP) is a disease in which pericardial calcification occurs, followed by the formation of an «armored heart», hemodynamic impairment and progression of congestive heart failure. The only effective treatment for CP is pericardectomy, but perioperative mortality, according to various sources, reaches 10%, and is mainly due to the technical features of the intervention. The success of the procedure largely depends on the timely verification of this disease.
We present a clinical case of surgical treatment of COVID-19 associated constrictive pericarditis.
Key words: pericardectomy, COVID-19, constrictive pericarditis.
