Clinical and psychological characteristics of coping in patients with multiple sclerosis

The article presents the results of the study of coping in patients with multiple sclerosis. It is determined that in the course of multiple sclerosis patients’ ability to problem analysis and optimism is reduced, emotions are suppressed, avoidance of aggression and minimized cooperation are revealed. Personal inactivity, confusion and submission are intensified, religiosity is increased. The heterogeneity of coping characteristics are observed in male and female patients, as well as in relapsing-remitting and secondary progressive clinical course of the disease.
