The article presents the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of full-scale examination of 1,055 patients with diabetes mellitus. The research results showed that the pathological changes severity in periodontal tissues is being enhanced in parallel with the augmentation of the glycolytic exchange compensation rate. Severe inflammatory and aggressive periodontal diseases are diagnosed in 5.7 % of cases at the diabetes compensation stage, and the spread of severe periodontal diseases has made up 14.5% and 27.0% correspondingly in people with sub- and decompensated exchange disorders. Results of the structural analysis of generalized periodontitis demonstrate that the pathologic process in periodontal tissues is noted as being progressed with the duration increase of the main disease and patient’s age. In the observation group of patients the condition of periodontal tissues has been recorded as normal in 13.8% of cases, periodontitis ― in 38%, which is lower by 62% as compared to people with diabetes.
