Objective: to explore the possibilities of a new electrophysical method for the treatment of nasal obstruction in chronic vasomotor rhinitis, through a dynamic correction of sympathetic nervous system activity (DCSNSA).
Materials and methods: the article presents the results of examination and treatment of 58 patients with chronic vasomotor rhinitis.
Results: the issues of non-invasive dynamic correction of the sympathetic nervous system activity are considered. New data are obtained on the relationship between the condition of the upper and lower respiratory tract after sympato-correction in patients with chronic vasomotor rhinitis. Improved quality of nasal breathing and respiratory function as a whole, and normalized activity of the ciliary apparatus of the nasal cavity mucosa ― to varying degrees was seen in all patients after DCSNSA. Conclusions: Dynamic correction of the sympathetic nervous system activity enables to improve nasal breathing, in the absence of pain syndrome, postoperative and rehabilitation periods. Decreased nasal mucosa resistance leads to a proportional improvement of the external respiration function.
Key words: sympathetic nervous system, chronic vasomotor rhinitis, respiratory tract.
