Cetomegalovirus infection in children

This article gives an analysis of the literature data, illuminating the problem of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. It summarizes the current understanding of the impact of CMV on the course of pregnancy and intrauterine fetal development. The methods of rational diagnosis of pregnant females and infants are viewed. The results of clinical and laboratory examination of 23 children under 2.5 years with CMV infection and their mothers by virological and immunological diagnostic methods are presented. The article shows high therapeutic effect of hyperimmuneanticy to megalovirus immunoglobulin in combination with recombinant interferon in the treatment of active CMV infection.
