The article presents the issues of cosmetic and medico-social rehabilitation of patients after enucleation. The choice of implant material that meets all the requirements for orbital implants, and corresponds to the size and shape of the orbital cavity creates conditions for an individual approach to each patient, helps to avoid complications and provides social and cosmetic rehabilitation of anophthalmic patients. The literature review describes the properties of a biocompatible allogeneic orbital implant manufactured using an improved technique and used in ophthalmic surgery to create a post-nucleation stump as the best alternative to a synthetic orbital insert.
Key words: bone allogenic implant, enucleation, evisceration, musculoskeletal postnucleation stump, anophthalmic syndrome
