 The article presents the main areas of scientific, pedagogical and medical activity of Associate Professor Ivan Mikhailovich Utrobin, his contribution to the development of reconstructive maxillofacial surgery. Formation of dentisry education, postgraduate training of medical workers of dentistry profile in the middle Volga region and the Republic of Tatarstan are described, as well as the main stages of development and reorganization of the Dentistry Department at Kazan State Institute for Doctors’ Advanced Education (KSMA, KSMA — a branch of GBOU DPO RMAPO Ministry of Healthcare of Russia).
