Epidemiological analysis of the incidence of infectious mononucleosis (IM) revealed an increase in the socio-economic significance of this pathology.
Objective is to determine the accuracy of early clinical diagnosis of infectious mononucleosis in adults at the prehospital stage.
Material and methods. The analysis of IM early clinical diagnosis was carried out on the basis of 1020 case histories for the period 2000-2017. The accuracy of clinical diagnosis was calculated, with the identification of errors of 1, 2 types.
Results. Effectiveness of IM early clinical diagnosis was assessed taking into account gender and age factors. The dependence was determined between the level of intensive indicators of IM morbidity and the probability of early accurate clinical diagnosis. During the follow-up period, IM overdiagnosis prevailed in the age group over 20 years with statistically significant differences in the follow-up groups. The accuracy of early diagnosis of IM was 16% higher in the group of 15-20 y.o.
Conclusion. The study found a direct correlation between the time of diagnosis and the bed-day length.
Key words: infectious mononucleosis, accuracy of clinical diagnosis.
