Assessment of risk factors for mortality in multiple sclerosis

The article shows the results of studying the factors influencing mortality in multiple sclerosis. The following risk factors for death were established: male gender, rural population, primary progressive and secondary progressive type of multiple sclerosis, high initial EDSS indicators at the disease onset (4 points and higher), disability group 1, later age of the disease onset, a long period from the disease onset to inclusion in the register. Disability indicated a 1.78-fold increase in the chances of death.
