The research is based on the analysis of the probable response of children with the hip joint pathology to the submersible osteofixation devices in the form of pins, corner-like plates and screws with nano-structured extra-hard titanium nitride and hafnium nitride coating. Research objective ― to reveal the probable response of the patient’s biomarkers to the osteosynthesis with the fixation devices with titanium nitride and hafnium nitride coating in the post-operative period.
The group included 14 patients operated with implants with the reviewed coating. The hematological and biochemical analyses of each patient were made before, after 1 day, 10 days, and five-six weeks after the operation. The main focus of the research was the probable toxic response of the patient’s organism to the coating. At the above dates, no deviations from the normal indicators were revealed. The organism response to the fixation device with the coating was adequate to the severity of the operation. Thus, the analysis of the organism response six-eight weeks after the operation showed no pathological reaction to implants with titanium nitride and hafnium nitride coating, which allows to recommend them for augmented usage in clinical practice.
Key words: osteosynthesis, organism response, coating, titanium nitride, hafnium nitride.
