    As one of the causes of left ventricular hypertrophy, arterial hypertension leads to myocardial electrical instability and ventricular arrhythmias risk increase. Length and dispersion of the ECG QT-interval is used to characterize myocardial electrical instability. The article contains review of literature data on the problem of correlation between QT changes and degree of blood pressure, left ventricular hypertrophy, arrhythmias, and their dynamics during treatment with anti-hypertension drugs.

    Key words: long QT interval, QT dispersion, arterial hypertension, left ventricular hypertrophy, metabolic syndrome.
