     The study involved 1,402 patients with COVID-19 (moderate severity with community-acquired pneumonia) who received inpatient treatment at the Therapy Department of City Clinical Hospital No. 3 in Stavropol from January 2021 to March 2022. There occurred 20 deaths (1.4%). The article presents an analysis of clinical and laboratory data of these patients. The comparison group included 20 patients who were discharged from the hospital (the inclusion criterion was the same gender and age as that of the deceased). The patients with fatal outcomes were predominantly diagnosed with pneumonia on CT-3, and in 100% of cases, they had various comorbidities. The analysis demonstrates that certain biomarkers, such as leukocytes, lymphocytes, urea, creatinine, CRP, and ferritin, can predict a fatal outcome independently of other factors. This confirms the results of numerous studies aimed at identifying signs of severe COVID-19. Integrating these mortality predictors into clinical practice will allow for the development of more effective patient management strategies and reduce mortality rates.
