At regional hospitals it is not always possible to fulfill the full range of patient surveys. The article presents the results of a retrospective study of observations of 368 patients with hemothorax without continuous bleeding. The main characteristics of the studied patients are presented. Using dependency analysis, the significant assessment of parameters are revealed associated with group differences. Applying discriminant analysis, we created a mathematical formulas which allow to, using a small set of surveys, choose a treatment method for the individual patient with hemothorax without continuous bleeding.

Key words: hemothorax, chest injury, videothoracoscopy, minor surgery techniques, predictions, multivariate statistical modeling.
