    The article presents a clinical case of maternal mortality from liver disease. The defects of prenatal care in the maternity welfare clinic and in-patient hospital are discussed. All stages of pregnancy and childbirth from the perspective of most recent data on the diseases of the liver during gestation are reviewed.

    Key words: autoimmune hepatitis, high risk pregnancy, liver diseases in pregnant women, maternal mortality.
