A comparative study was carried out of the results of IOL implantation and methods of their fixation in 216 patients (216 eyes) with aphakia of various etiologies with total absence of capsular support: a three-part IOL with suture transciliary fixation according to the proposed procedure, a PMMA IOL with suture fixation in the ciliary striation according to the standard procedure, IOL with fixation in the corner of the anterior chamber and posterior chamber IOL with suture fixation to the iris. The proposed method of suture fixation of the tripartite IOL in the ciliary striation with the complete absence of the lens capsule made it possible to reduce the traumatic nature of the surgical intervention, to obtain high visual functions, and the stable position of the IOL throughout the observation period.

Key words: aphakia, tripartite IOL, complete absence of capsular support.
