The paper presents two clinical cases of hepatitis-associated aplastic anemia observed in the last year. The literature data about this new disease are presented. The clinical picture, diagnostics and treatment are described. Some issues of diagnostic tests and treatment are discussed, which influence the prognosis. Allogenic bone marrow transplantation should be preferred to immunosuppressive therapy because of better long-term results after transplantation and life threatening complications after aggressive immunosuppressive therapy.

Key words: hepatitis-associated aplastic anemia, immunosuppressive therapy, bone marrow transplantation.
