The authors developed and successfully tested in the clinic a new method for treating keeled chest in children and adolescents. The results of treatment of 6 patients operated with this method in 2010–2017 are analyzed. The authors analyzed the arising complications in the treatment of this group of patients. Prevention of recurrence of deformity in the period of child’s growth should be aimed at long-term fixation of the sterno-rib joint (SRJ) in the position of normal correction.
Key words: operative treatment, keeled chest, deformation correction, fixing metal structure, postoperative complications.
