Recently, a special urgency and attention in the world takes on a new form of cardiomyopathy — Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (KMPT). This form is poorly understood, but we know that it can lead to the development of congestive heart failure and various forms of arrhythmias. KMPT characterized by a specific dysfunction of the left ventricle, where under the influence of a large number of external and endogenous factors suddenly weakened ability to contract. The clinical picture is reminiscent of symptoms of acute coronary syndrome. It should be noted, however, that the treatment in patients with KMPT now be considered empirically as randomized clinical trials, which included patients with the disease has not yet been carried out. This article describes the clinical picture, approaches to diagnosis and treatment KMPT.

Key words: Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (KMPT), dysfunction of the left ventricle, acute coronary syndrome.
