The article presents the results of assessing the vitamin D sufficiency in various groups of total number of 1243 people: children of early age (127 people), children of 6-7 years (180), adolescents of 13-15 years (367), adults (542), people with complicated osteoporosis (27). Widespread prevalence of vitamin D deficiency was found: the lowest level of 25 (OH) D was recorded in children aged 6-7 years and adolescents, as well as in those with complicated osteoporosis. The results of the use of cholecalciferol preparations in children of early age and in patients with complicated osteoporosis are presented High effectiveness of the use of therapeutic doses of cholecalciferol, low effectiveness of the recommended preventive doses in these groups is demonstrated. The need for preliminary assessment of vitamin D provision and careful selection of supplementation schemes is made actual.
