Treatment of diabetic foot syndrome is a multidisciplinary problem. Formation of the routs and phases of referral of these patients to the vascular surgeon is currently not regulated. The possibilities of the vascular correction of the ischemic form of the diabetic foot and their long-term results are analyzed in his article. Clinical success in the early stages can be achieved in 58,7% of cases. The long-term results of limb revascularization in these patients are less optimistic. If for a period of 3 months it is possible to maintain a good result in 100% of patients, then by 6 months — in 60,5%, and in a period of 1 year — only in 1 patient (2,7%). 12,7% of patients die from various causes for a period from 3 to 12 months after revascularization, despite the reduction of critical ischemia.Role of the vascular surgeon in correction of diabetic foot syndrome is only in treatment of its ischemic form. The remaining states are the prerogative of related specialists of the multidisciplinary brigade.
Key words: diabetic foot syndrome, critical limb ischemia, revascularization.
