One of the areas of telemedicine is remote electrocardiography ― transmittance of electrocardiography data via telecommunication lines. In 2008 on the basis of the Regional Clinical Hospital №3, a Uniform Consultative and Diagnostic Center of Functional Diagnostics was organized. As a result of its functioning, queues for ECG examination were eliminated, terms of diagnosis were reduced, non-targeted emergency calls were reduced, terms of admission of the patient with AMI to hospital were reduced, the bed-day rate in the treatment of AMI was reduced, hospital mortality from ACS was reduced, the cost of temporary disability in patients with AMI and acute cardiac arrhythmias was reduced, more than 80 emergency medical teams were reduced to remove electrocardiograms at home, specialized cardiological care was moved closer to the patient’s place of residence. It became possible to predict the growth or reduction of morbidity, and as a result, mortality from cardiovascular diseases reduced. The introduction of coding in the description of ECG allowed to obtain detailed statistics and epidemiological analysis of all rhythm disturbances and ischemic changes.

    Key words: telemedicine, distant electrocardiography.
