Results of reconstructive surgery for cicatricial deformity and dystopia of the inner canthus

Reposition of the inner canthus is one of the most difficult tasks in reconstructive surgery related to the aftereffects of injuries and burns.
Material and methods. The specific feature of the surgical treatment tactics developed during our research is the use of allotendinous sutures ensuring solid fixation of the palpebral fissure inner angle to the orbital inner wall. Dispersed form of Regeneration Stimulator «Alloplant» biomaterial was applied to prevent gross scarring of tissues in the surgical area. In total, 53 patients with post-traumatic and post-burn deformities and dislocations of the eyelids and palpebral fissure were operated using the proposed method.
Results. The use of «Alloplant» biomaterials made it possible to restore the function of the medial canthal ligament of eyelids and the correct position of the inner canthus.
