The article presents remote (three years of observation) hypotensive results of selective trabeculotomy ab interno performed simultaneously with cataract phacoemulsification (32 eyes). The results were analyzed in comparison with a similar group of patients with cataract and glaucoma, who underwent only cataract phacoemulsification (29 eyes). The main group showed reliable reduction of the need in hypotensive drops. The average number of hypotensive drops in the main group was 0.4±0.1 and in the control group 2.1±0.2 one week after surgery. Three years after surgery the corresponding numbers were 0.9±0.2 and 24±0.3 respectively. The frequency of further hypotesive inverventions was more than 5 times higher in the control group than in the main group. The long-term efficiency, technical simplicity, positive effect duration and safety of the selective trabeculotomy ab interno were demonstrated.
Key words: selective trabeculotomy ab interno.
