Patients with various kinds of orthopedic complications of acute hematogenous metaepiphyseal osteomyelitis in the hip in the form of a complete defect of the epiphysis of the femoral head totaled 19.7% of all patients. In order to restore the congruence of the joint preservation and the growth potency of the proximal part of the hip bone (PPHB), these patients should undergo the transplantation of the ilium of anterior-upper spine containing apophysis with sprout plate and feeding muscle flap onto the stump of the femoral neck. Positive result of treatment was received in 6 cases out of 7. The further condition of the transplanted part of the ilium of anterior-upper spine containing apophysis with sprout plate and its influence on the further growth of PPHB is a great interest, as we have not met such operational methods in the literature.
Key words: acute hematogenous metaepiphyseal osteomyelitis (AHMO), proximal part of the hip bone (PPHB), children, complete defect of the epiphysis of the femoral head.
