In the structure of morbidity in preschool children, the leading position remains for recurrent respiratory diseases. The fact of the synergistic action of recurring episodes of acute respiratory diseases, their severity and the presence of allergic sensitization on the control of the course of bronchial asthma is indisputable.
The purpose — to study the prolonged protective effect of the prophylactic immune-mediated antiviral drug based on technologically processed antibodies in high solutions for resistance to acute respiratory diseases in the selected patient groups.
Material and methods. A retrospective analysis of the medical documentation of 71 preschool-age patients with bronchial asthma was performed for resistance to acute respiratory diseases.
Results. The use of a four-month prophylactic course of the antiviral drug during the period of epidemiological trouble for acute respiratory diseases with the transformation of its dosage regimen according to indications made it possible to reduce the frequency and severity of episodes of recurrent respiratory diseases and the frequency of antibacterial drugs taking, as wellas to reduce the number of exacerbations of bronchial asthma caused by respiratory viruses. The result of improved control of bronchial asthma was a reduction of the basic therapy of bronchial asthma in 76,2% of patients. No significant prolonged therapeutic and prophylactic effect was observed after its withdrawal.
Key words: recurrent respiratory infections, bronchial asthma, antiviral therapy.
