Among the natural-focal infections registered in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, the most common is hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). In children, the clinical manifestations of HFRS may differ from the classical clinical picture characteristic for adults, with possible atypical course of the disease. Rare manifestations of HFRS in children include effusions in various areas of the body: the pleural cavity, pericardium, or pelvic cavity. The article presents a case of HFRS in a 13-year-old child who developed polyserositis manifesting as an effusion in the pleural cavity, pericardium, and pelvic cavity. Given the possible development of polyserositis in HFRS, an ultrasound of the pleural cavity, heart, abdominal and pelvic organs is suggested.

Key words: hemorrhagic fever, children, polyserositis.
